Dance Dance Revolution--
This is me with my imaginary tiger doing the happy dance as I've finished a very strong and solid draft of my critical page weighing in at 27 pages. I know it's not done, but it's closer, much closer. I've back-up the file, printed out copies--I'm not losing this.
So far the title is Different Ways to Laugh: The Use of Humor in Poems by Contemporary Women Poets. It focuses intensely on these poets: Denise Duhamel, Nin Andrews, Dorothy Barresi, and Lucille Clifton. One night at around midnight it was titled "Beautiful Tragedies," which didn't make any sense, but I was tired and feeling extremely creative.
Thanks to The Fray--
And last night, for the first time in who-knows-how-long, I wrote (say it): a poem. Yes, not the best poem or one that's even close to being finished but I started writing. It seems the song "Over My Head" by The Fray is very inspiring to me as I put it on replay track and by the end of the fourth time hearing the song, I had a first draft I can work with. I have a few songs or CDs I slip into my computer if I'm having trouble writing. The Fray is one of my newer muses.
Giving Thanks--
I'll be posting my thankful list later tonight. I'm feeling thankful for a lot lately. Nothing major, just the simple things.
