NaPoWriMo #4

The Midnight Disease

At first she wrote to keep sleep (the lover
she only met at daybreak)near. But soon
she learned she only wanted him when
she could have him least, a relationship

of inconvenience, a math problem of
early hours. At first the woman wrote
to make insomnia productive,
instead of a night of empty pillows,

a night of untucked sheets, she would have
a notebook where words were her shadow,
headlights moving across the page. And when
she realized her lover appeared

on the page in pencilmarks, she took off
her robe and fell clearly into a dream.

****BTW, if you can think of a better/stronger word than "clearly" in the last line, please leave me a note. I'd appreciate it. (Oh, and if it could be 2 syllables, it's better.)
