New Kids on the Block / Middle Age Men on the Prowl

Okay, this is completely off topic with anything in your lives (I'm sure of this), but did you hear about this reunion? I just did. It made me laugh just on the idea the fact they were keeping their name. Maybe they'll go by NKOTB instead. The other funny thing was that I have all my boy bands confused--New Kids, 98 Degrees, Backstreet Boys--until these photos I really have no idea who was in what group. (Of course, my favorite boy band was Boys To Men...--Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky & Mike, if I like a girl, who cares who you like...)

Anyhoo, for some reason I thought I was much older than the New Kids on the Block when they came out with their songs (I think I was starting college), but apparently, I'm the same age of them. They now range in age from 35-39. But I was interested in their "before/after" photos. The first one is from the 80's (obviously. as if you couldn't tell by the big hair, bright colors, and the redhead trying to look "fierce" with a skull and crossbones on his arm--newsflash 2008: little girls in second grade wear skull and crossbones on their shirts now, but back then it was considered edgy...as must have been the pirate's sash across his head and Miley Cyrus pout.)

Now, here they are today in 2008. (see photo below)
Obviously, they can afford nicer clothes, but this could easily be an ad for mortgage lenders and the guy in the center looks so much like David Caruso I keep thinking this is a promo for CSI.
But here's the thing, I want them to do well. I had zero of their albums, have no idea of their names except I'm pretty sure one is a Wahlberg, but I hope this album turns out to be a good one. It's sort of strange them coming back after so many years, sort of like missing your 10 year high school reunion then showing up at your 20th reunion in nice suits ready to sing and well, I'm listening. Though I do hope they change their name, at least slightly...
